useless unless you've got a JC5 casting cos it uses tapered bearings over the JBX roller bearings. there's also less internalroom in a JB casting.

The ground won't hurt it too much providing its not dropped or left on it. What is a little worrying are the little bits missing from the differential drive gear and the main bearing journal that's rusting up & it would be nice if the seller had layed the rest of the input shaft internals and selectors out to be seen.

I wonder how the bell housing became cracked though as I suspect that's not the real reason for the internals being up forsale? I bet it spat the crown wheel and pinion which then exited the casting like mine did whilst being driven with care... maybe that's why the differential isn't shown

lol, I ment it more of a look what the inside of your box looks like tbh. I've never seen them other than the diagrames in haynes.
