Wink Renault Juvaquatre

1939 RENAULT – UNFINISHED ROSTORATION on eBay, also, Renault, Classic Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 07-Jan-08 20:45:00 GMT)

I doubt you'll see too many of these on the roads.

The Juvaquatre was designed and built when Louis Renault was still alive and before he went crazy. Renault in fact had a factory in London at the time, although this model was known in Britain at the time as the Renault '8' (not to be confused with the later and still common R8/10).

The Juvaquatre had a 1000cc 4-cylinder engine with side valves rather than above which was not the most modern design even back then. This was the first all-steel monocoque Renault and had independent front suspension and leaf springs on the back axle. This car would cruise at 36-40mpg; seems not a lot has changed in 70 years!

Not really the most classic of Renaults but certainly a good retro project
