If you bought everything from them besides the lifters and bought the lifters from that chap on ebay for 60 it'd cost about the same as that

NA i reckon thats still a lil expensive. When i did my rebuild i purchased the bearings, thrust and piston rings from BBPT that came in at 190 incl VAT DEL. I got the tappets from cossie boys at 60, £30 for headgasket set and bolts and the sump gasket set from euro at 20. ok £60 saving, but...every little helps!
