2.0 Clio - It's tempting

Just seen THIS. May well be interested in it depending on the sellers answers to a few questions.

So much for me saying I wasn't going to go french again, lol.

Due to the 2.0 conversion the rev gauge and oil pressure gague do not work as the old engine ran on 12v and the new engine runs on 6v according to the tuning centre
Eh?

lol, thought exactly the same about that bit. Also where he says it's a "one of a kind" modfification, yeah - apart from the other couple of hundred 2.0 clios, lol.

It does appear to be running the megane coilpack so it quite unique. That would explain the lack of rev counter

Oil pressure sender is the same tho

fair enough then. I take it thats to do with how most clios have the head machined to accept a dizzy but this one not having that done? I was hoping it would be done that way as I would have wanted to keep the 2.0 hush hush from Mr Insurance, lol.

just got a reply to my questions and he says it's needing RR'd to get to it's max potential as it was "turned down" to pass MOT emissions test. I wouldn't have thought you could adjust anything in that way, or am I totally wrond and you could?

Using the coil packs is a much much better way to do it, alot harder tho

Ask teh seller what ecu is in teh car. It might be running some expensive stnadalone ecu

just heard back from him saying it would take over £2000 for him to sell outside ebay so I don't think I'll be buying it outside ebay anyway. I'll keep an eye on how it's going but don't like the idea of bidding that sort of amount on a car I haven't seen in the metal.

Also looking at THIS one but again as with the other it's always risky when you've not seen it. Both of them aren't too far away from me I suppose (aberdeen and durham) but can't be arsed to go and look when it's going to come down to an auction.

I was pretty much intednding to bid on this without having seen it but I'm not sure if it's the best idea tbh. Just heard back from the guy and he says the engine was only rebuilt 200 miles ago, which tbh I find it a bit strange that he would sell so soon after having that done.

Anyone near there and fancy having a look????? Ideally I would want to go myself but I can't get down there for before the auction ends.

yeah, it's the first one I was talking about, just seems as though theres something a bit strange about selling a car 200miles after having the engine re-built.

Wouldn't pay the £1200 for the second one, just think I'll bid and hope he'll sell it if it finishes below as I've been talking to him and think theres a chance he will.
