16V clio lump
16V clio lump

Introduction

Dougal (u33db) picked this engine up for me as it was near him and he's a star, it was an ebay purchase.

Stephen (steve101) took me up to Inverurie to collect it at the weekend there.

What great, kind gentlemen Dougal and Stephen are.

However I shall save the best to last, the fair maiden, the ultimate vision of loveliness, she of the iffy directions, her supreme princess Janette, whom opened the garage door allowing this pick up to take place, deserves the highest accolade for her participation in this exciting endeavour.

Janette, songs shall be written about the part you played in this epic.

The plans for the engine are still as yet unknown, I have a few options.

Anyway, the engine is a clio one, theres no engine loom attached, there was however a phase 2 19 16V loom included.

Stephen helped me get the engine out of his megane and round the back, I then moved it the next day and got some initial pictures.

This is the engine with the plastic cambelt covers removed, I did this to not only get a look but also to turn the engine over.

There are no manifold to downpipe studs fitted, the starter heatshield was removed in this picture and also note early style white oil pressure sender.
