172 clio sport engine

got my hands on the 172 clio engine as a replacment for a tired f7p how hard is the conversion any help much appreciated

Mounting it should be fairly easy, convert to the Mk1 cable actuated TB if you've got the later cable-less version. You might need a minor mod to you exhaust to allow it to connect to the F4R Down pipe. Getting it running - It'll be easier to run aftermarket management such as Omex, Emerald, Luminition, KMH, MegaSquirt etc so be prepared for some wiring of an new ECU plug.

Yo'uve got all the ancils yeah... manifolds, alternator, etc?

As mick said, will be a ball ache on OE ecu, even IF you have the ecu, transponder, and fob...which you likely dont.

Well there goes your hope for getting it to run on OE Management then cos it's all coded to the ECU. Looks like aftermarket is the only option so you budget will have to increase by at least £800-1000 now for the supply and mapping of an ECU
