Failed NCT

Money pits NCT today, it failed on a non working drivers side rear caliper which typically was the only wheel not to have been off over the last few days

Still, not bad considering

rear caliper are the classical R19 fault

what is the NCT?? yearly mot thing??

Every 2 years

Going by the NCT report it is working but not well enough so it failed on a imbalance on the rear alxe and also on the parking brake, minimum required is 16%, it got 10%

MR2 will be booked in for the NCT next week, if they ever get it on the system , don't fancy its chances on emissions tho'

take the carrier off and the disc.

wind the piston in and out, wind it out first and see if its corroded chances are it is, so use some scotch brite on it as this will remove the corrosion and not damage the chrome plating, it will help it move anyway.

I'm going to sent the spares off to that place neal got his from so i'll only need to get it working enough to pass the test

do what I said and that will get it workingenough, its much easier to take tyhe carrier off and the disc than fiddle through the small gap btw.
