Banning use of cars over 10 years old!

Several EU proposals across the years are dangerous to the classic car movement. One that has been under consideration is to ban the use of cars older than 10 years. Similarly, Edinburgh City Council is considering the banning of cars over 15 years old from the town centre. These, and similar, proposals directly threaten the classic car movement, and encourage the manufacture of new cars, with the attendant environmental issues of sourcing raw materials, manufacturing, distributing and scrapping the spiraling supply of new vehicles.

Anyhow if you have five minutes with nothing else to do
Petition to: Reject any proposals to ban or restrict the use of older cars.

Wonder what the tree-huggers are going to do when they realise their beloved VW Beetle and 2CV come under this...

I'm sick to the back teeth of this nanny-state we're heading towards. I can't have a ciggarette with my beer because I might give someone at the other end of the room cancer, I can't drive fast because some bereived mother will come out from behind the kleenex to tell us all how she didn't teach her kid not to play in the road so it got ran over.

What a load of crap.

I'm all for the smoking ban, foul smelling, polution spreading, anti social bums.

Only down side, is now the doorways and the street outside are clogged with pissed idiots, I have two pubs accross the road from me, and there are several fights every night, all pubs should have to have a dedicated smoking area away from the public.

me too.

I hate going out to the pub and coming back stinking of cigarette smoke. Makes me sick. I have to put all my clothes in the washing machine as soon as i get in.

Of course my hair and so on will still stink and if I'm out late I'm not exactly going to have a shower before bed so the bedsheets/pillows end up stinking of it so I have to wash those the next day too.

Granted, smokers are the minority (maybe 25% or so) but all the same...

Is it a decision for the government or the premisis owner?

If the Landlord or franchise owner decides that a premisis is to be a non-smoking venue, then yeah thats fine, people who don't like smoking can go to non-smoking places, and people who do smoke will go elsewhere.

Instead we have a goverment that decides that we have to stand outside like lepers in the rain.

Crazy situation

They banned drinking in city centres, now they're banning smoking indoors. so you have to go outside to have a fag then go back in again to sip your beer. Can we just sit by the window or something?
