Got the engine in and running Sunday night. So now She move's under her own power. Now the fun of driving it start's. as well as getting the rust sorted.

Big Thank to Neal for the Engine. Simon. for use of his Van. as the smell of the Gearoil gone BTW ? . And Mick for fitting the Lump. It will be at this weekend's FCS. It not the perfect Retro-Renault Car. but, Deffo worth saving. It as been with some Chav at some time, as you can tell. But now, She be save'd. Gave it a quick wash today. So i'll see your chap's at FCS. hope you Enjoy it. Also nothing to do with the Cabbie. but the Black 19 as been moved to work drove ok. Wheels bearing out somewhere on the front tho. Brake was starting to clean up Nice. So if anyone want it PM me. Simon. on the top of the list at the mo.

Yes Neal the engine running fine, was a bit tapperie at the start. but the drive back sorted it. I almost got the engine in the face tho. as I was under it when a lifting eye broke. Now i've heard before that these are weak, and well 15 year's does not help alloy. I also allmost ended up choping mick finger off in error by lowering the jack when I should have lifted it. Still it's in and running. So can work on other Stuff. Big thank for the Engine BTW. here two more pic's.

i never use the lifting eyes for that very reason, always a tow rope wrapped under the engine to lift it in and out with.

Cabbie is looking good, glad to see it back on the road

i just put the rope round the manifolds, can never get the right angle to make it go in the hole when i use the lifting eyes.

Plan for next time engine out that. old unit sound 100% fecked. look on RSC.

On a slightly more serious note I tried to dismantle the old F7P last night. Christ only knows who's worked on it before but the exhaust maifold is welded to the cylinder head and, with the engine on a stand I couldn't crack the head bolts with my breaker bar!

Proper fucked Pete and TBH i'd be tempted to send it to the scrappers as is!

Aye, it was looked after... note everything on it is genuine Ren - oil filter, cambelt (which I assume you replaced!?) etc. just like the car itself was (Ren brake pads and so on)
