Saddam

so he'll hang by his neck until he is stone cold dead?

I know hes no angel but wheres the evidence?

Sure he was a bad mofo, but plenty of UK people have lived in Iraq for years, it was generally free living for those that went to it.

TBH...its all fucking bullshit. yes, everyone is going to say "yay weve cought the bad guy", but at the end of the day....says who?? monkey bush and fairy blair?? we as a public are fed SOOOO much bullshit its unbelievable. we are living a life that is decided by muppets that are obsessed with power...muppets that will kill innocent people for that power. SO arent george.W and T.Blair just as guilty as Saddam for these alleged offences.

pot, black, kettle.

get all our troops out, and let the americans fight their gay war for power.

this shit really gets to me, as we as a world are on a knife edge surrounded by potential nuclear devistation. if it all kicks off, it will be for good....we will be no more. all the key players have WMD....its getting to be a case of WHEN they get used...and at this rate fighting petty wars out of sheer greed, we really do have bleak, non-existant future.

its sad....and WE cant do a damn thing about it.

It's well known that it's all to secure oil supplies for the future of the west.

http://www.netscape.com/viewstory/20...htm&frame=true

So in a way, it is hypocritical for people to be protesting against the intervention in the ME, while enjoying driving around in their petrol guzzling cars / running a tuning company for their future livelihood :P

Glad to see saddam getting the death penalty which, imo, is exactly what he deserves. However, I don't think we should have gone into Iraq as it's none of out business tbh. If there was buletproof evidence they had WMD's then it would be a different story but that was all clearly a load of bollocks that we as the public were fed. Although I am glad saddam isn't in power I really feel it wasn't our place to go in there and remove him, especially when we went in the way we have done with no apparent plan to get the counry back on it's feet.

George Bush is a complete liability imo and can't believe an idiot like him is in what is probably the most powerfull position in the world.

The thing is Saddam was in power for what 25 years or something? He had no WMD's and had NO plans to invade. Notice how when Clinton was in power Saddam was not an issue, we all got on fine and sent christmas cards.

It was when Bush came back in to finish daddies little mess up that Saddam was the baddest mofo on the planet.

Bin Ladin wasn't liked by Saddam at all, theres evidence of this way back in the 80's. Al Queada even tried to get shot of Ladin back in the 80's but the Americans refused to help. Another daddy Bush fuck up.

Blairs fed up of it, thats obvious, he wants out and rightly so, hes not that stupid, he knows where its going and he doesn't want the blame on him.

The oil fields. theres lots of oil fields in friendly countries, only issue is its dearer to get it elsewhere! My old mans in the oil game, south america has lkots of oil, canada has lots of oil, america has a lot of oil, oil isn't something we are gonna run out of for a long time.

Verdict

He's got whats coming to him, but it will cause a few more problems as there will never be a solution.

Religion was created to control the masses and enrich the few just look at the catholic church. However to fight in the name of a god is false and the wrongfull use religion is madness. I loved his little outbust at sentancing "for god" as ever delusions of being holy.

Thats why there will never be a true solution, however this guy and his family were scum just ask any kurd's what they think of him.

People should be proud of our service man and be thankfull unlike most of europe we dont have conscription (would wake a lot of people up if we did) war is never good but sometimes required.

This country would not exist if it was not for the USA and i think too many poeple are quick to forget howmany millions died in the past to give us freedoms we take for granted

Well I remember the gulf war, a lot of you probably remember it much better than me I would have thought. I knew then it was serious and this dictator was really ruining the lives of his own citizens and those of the people he invaded.

Quote:

WMDs or no WMDs he was still really oppressing the iraqi people. Here's a quote from 2001, before the recent conflicts (link):
Quote:
a European interviewer nervously quoted reports that the Baghdad authorities might, on occasions, have tortured and perhaps even killed opponents of the regime. Was this true? Saddam Hussein was not offended. Rather, he seemed surprised by the naivete of the question. "Of course," he replied. "What do you expect if they oppose the regime?"
cont'd:
Quote:
In attempts to suppress the Kurds, for example, he has systematically used chemical weapons. And in putting down a rebellion of Shi'ia in the south he has razed towns to the ground and drained marshland.
Millions hated him for his killing, and that was just his own people.
In the end, he was tried by his own court and sentenced in his own country.

The whole debate about whether foreigners (like the US and UK) should have got physically involved a few years ago is a bit more complicated and slightly dubious on legal grounds, obviously, and sounds like a complete nuisance as far as the iraqi people are concerned. However this man should have been eliminated 15 years ago

yes we knwo he killed lots of people but there is no evidence of it. Look at what they were trying to get him done with from the start of his trial, murder of 20 people back in 1976 or something!

What do you think happens to people here that make a lot of noise? they make a lot of noise then go quiet, its not cos they decided to go with the flow.

No government will think twice about torture/murder of its own citizens.

Oppressing the iraqi people, well iraq is just like here or america or anywhere else. I know a lot of soldiers, also docs there he will back me up on this, theres poor iraqi people and theres rich iraqi people, soldiers I knwo talked of how they jump about in audi tt's and all that, just normal people. theres no great oppresion.

The minute saddam lost power the peopel all thought, it was gonna be all happy families within a few weeks, you know, Hooters bars on every corner and strip clubs that were cheap and easy to get to along with a maccie d's and american soaps on the telly.

It didn't happen.
