Yep, the seller Chet mentions is a very honest bloke and very very helpful!

when we first saw his ad a few years ago on ebay, we of course thought hmmm another typical OTT claim, i still don't know how but pennyduck found our thread but he did and wished to prove his product, he sent me a bunch of chips which i tested out and found that they did what he says they will do, however this site did identify a problem with certain types of ECU, informed him and he made a new chip which is compatible with all types of ECU.
He even gave the site a donation to thank us

If you buy from pennyduck please mention retro-renault to him

a guy on my nvq course is working for a company who does superchips and remapping etc, he has offered to do me one at cost and fitted for £50... but this is cheaper and i could do it my self anyway... all im looking for is slight increase in mpg... these things make much difference?

hmmm debatable, most chips are designed to up the power of the car, more power being used = more fuel being used = less MPG.

Also for a map to work best with your car, it will need to be rolling roaded at the same time as being mapped, no two cars are ever the same so maps really need to be tailored to the car its going on.
But most generic maps are ok.

Can't have your cake and eat it mate.

If it was possible to map it to have more power and better fuel consumption, they would have done it like that from the factory.
