Renault Alpine Returns!
Renault are planning on making a new rear engined two seater sports car bearing the Alpine name. Prices starting at 16k its going straight up against the MX5. Anyone who's got this weeks Autocar or Autoexpress will have already seen it.

What with the new scenic designs, the megane coupe coming out in 2009 and the Lag 3 coupe, looks likle renault are going to be making some fine looking cars in the coming years! (shame about the Lag 3 hatch)

I'll try and get a scan of it up if anyone wants it.

This article sais its going against the 350Z but the magasinzes rubbish that and compare it to the mx5. Picture is pretty much the same tho

probably a rebadged 350z or whatever, like point.

also i'm more excited by the laguna coupe and thats a diesel lol. could go either way though that one.

Missing the boat here I think.

They have RenaultSport badge for cars like that.

The Alpine name should be aimed at competing with the Elise. How about a 2 seater, 2.0L Mid engined rwd car that is as light as a feather and goes like stink...?
