what didn't you get done then?

New years just days away, what resolutions/goals did you set that you never achieved?

And also what DID you achieve?

Didn't, although there are a few more days left to go...

Become a millionaire.
Finish the driveway.
Get the sheds cleared out.
Climb ben Lomond and Ben Nevis
Get the house all sorted out
Never rebuilt the chamades engine (runs fine tbh)
get the coupe sorted

Did manage to do

Get out of the flat in Paisley and move into a house.
Get more than 1 girlfriend after Amber and I split up and should be with this latest one at long last for the long haul.
Bought less than 3 cars this year.
Get a real job within the realms of the law.
Fit the new discs and pads to the chammy although the old ones were barely worn and changed the door lock and glass with the originals.

And dunno what else.

Lets hear yours then people.

RR Christmas Party 2008

As always one of my goals was to get myself into reasonable shape.

Not made as much progress as I could have done but nonetheless this Xmas I weigh in 2st lighter and 2" shorter in the waist than I did this time last year, so not all bad.

Car obviously was another one, this time last year it was stood on axle stands and now it's rolling on wheels with a disc rear axle, 325mm front brakes and coilover suspension fitted. Front end has been de-rusted and the engine bay given a respray, and there's a whole mass of 16v interior, dash and Recaro seats (and an engine) in the garage waiting to go on.

Women was another aspect of life in which I wanted to make progress. Year got off to a great start with Lisa, and within the first month of the new year I was deflowered. That romance quickly fizzled out when it emerged that we wanted different things, I wanted something serious, she just wanted sex. Thinking that that would be my only action for the year, I assumed things would return to normal. How wrong I was.

Things were pretty dead until May, when I pulled an absolute stunner in Nottingham on my birthday (see below) Never did catch her name.... shame.

Then in June I nailed Amanda, she was obsessed with me and I made the mistake of thinking that if I gave her one she might fuck off, it worked but at the expense of me contracting a minor STI.

September came and a weekends' boozing saw the lovely Philippa come into my life, again, a short lived affair which culminated in a drunken rendez-vous in the church gardens.

In October I met up with a net friend called Hana after chatting online for about a year, and we hit it off straight away, she travelled down to meet me a couple of times from Leeds and we've been together ever since. First proper relationship for me but I kinda miss being single, having spent the majority of the year enjoying the rewards that can be gathered from the single life I now find part of myself longing to be single again after spending so long being single and moaning about it!

Ah well!

That's about it for me!

My only New Years Resolution for this year was:

- be able to solve Rubik's cube in under a minute

Always wanted to since i was a kid and could never do more than one side. The result? With some training consisting of mainly drinking gin and following the instructions I could reliably get it down to 2 1/2 minutes. That was back in January, I never touched it since having discovered more entertaining ways in which to give myself wrist strain.

As a footnote, Wicked Neo it turns out is an absolute legend at this and can spell out his name in coloured squares in 12 seconds flat, blindfolded and with one arm behind his back.

Next Year's Resolution?

- learn a new language beyond grunting and pointing (master of both)
- travel to a different country and see what its like there. with the Chamade.

Happy New Year peoples.

Happy New Year peoples.

As it goes, it would be impossible to spell out NEO on the cube and i can do the cube in roughly 60 seconds, sometimes less, sometimes a little over.
I dont actually have a cube at the mo but if someone wants to bring one to the SW meet, i'll prove it

Only two things i've not got done in 2007 which i promised myself i would get done and thats A: redecorate my flat and B: Make a driveway out of my front garden.

Things i want to get done in 2008 is have UCC stripped back to a bare shell, sort out any rust/corrosion/body work issues, get the roll cage fitted, get the maxi kit fitted and the car painted.
2009 can see all the new parts i am collecting fitted to it
