replacing wish bones procedure

hello chaps, just in mid 'change of wishbones' on our 16v cabby. whats the procedure for tightening up the bolts? Reason i ask is coz on a Volvo 850 T5 you must replace the bolts, lightly tighten, lower the car to the ground on its wheels & then tighten to 65n/m (appx 40lbs/ft) then tighten a further 60 degrees.
Are these cars similar in refitting in any way?

Tighten to the haynes specified torque, but do it with the car on the ground so as the wishbones aren't tightened up pointing downwards

Also remember the large dished washers

well you could use a pit or you could remove the front bumper to make room to get at them or you could remove the wheels and support the car on axle stands under the balljoints (dont fancy that one myself tbh )

Just have to be inventive

It's easy enough with the bumper off. Just have some blocks of wood etc handy. Also useful for clamping the ARB ends.

Why not have the car on axle stands, lob the wheels back on and slap the jack under each wheel and raise it?

best way is to just do the bolts up with the wishbones held roughly horizontal. That's easily close enough.

Yes if it's on axel stands, because that is what they are made for

mals, axle stands are not made for supporting a car by its wheels.
