Less control underbreaking and more likely to lock the rear wheels, dont quite know how this is achieved though? Surely without engaging the clutch during deceleration the engine is going to do a certain amount to slow the car.

Some sort of one way bearing setup maybe?

the free engine change to the season ,means if the engine blows up they dont have a 10 place drop on the grid, but u only get 1 free change in the season, so if its blow up next time they have to take the 10 place drop on grid, hope that helps, the engine braking part is like traction control were the engine helps slow the car under braking, were it feeds the power back in slowly, thats y they all have the same ecu's now, so no 1 can change the settings in it,

well, i used to love F1, in the time of Senna, Mansell, Piquet, etc... and to be honest, back then it was all nip and tuck stuff exciting, but that fateful day when Senna got killed i think it all changed. Remember that day so well, quite shocking, especially as soon as it happened, i knew he was a gonna ........... sad day for F1

but i always give F1 a chance, and try to watch the first couple of races, but its never been the same

I stayed up last night and watched the Grand Prix (always open to giving things a chance) and it certainly makes a difference now they dont have all their driver aids like traction control, Massa certainly does not look as good as he did last season without his traction control to save him hehe.

The circuit looked good and did provide some moments of brilliant driving ability but what a shambles that Honda pitstop was at the end, the lollipop man needs some more training and maybe an eye test!

The fuel rigs need sorting tbh, fairly consistent problem. As soon as the refueler starts to remove the rig the lollypop goes up, trouble is like yesterday when they stick and accidents happen. You cant really wait for the rig to be clear as its precious time being wasted.

good old Ferrari and their "re-fuelling traffic light system", no doubt they'll complain about something and get some points back, lol

bet that'll get changed now, lol

OMG baz thanks for resurrecting the thread, I was reading it earlier and thinking it's a shame how many people enjoy putting down the sport.

Ferrari traffic lights, well I for one said they would disappear after the fiasco at Valencia but they seemed to stay. How many mechanics must get injured I wonder?

Interesting comparison:
Valencia (August): Massa released into the path of Sutil (NO PENALTY)
Ted's Valencia notebook - Feature - F1 | ITV Sport
"There was an element of arrogance in Ferrari’s defence. They implied Adrian Sutil was only a backmarker who should have got out of the race leader’s way"

Singapore (Sept): Massa released into the path of Sutil (DRIVE-THROUGH PENALTY)
James Allen's Singapore GP verdict - Feature - F1 | ITV Sport
"Because there were so many cars pitting and therefore a much more dangerous situation, Ferrari switched to manual. So the green light performed the same function as a lollipop would have done"
- so the traffic light system doesn't work under pressure? And the man with a stick didn't do the job? Not to mention the fact that the fuel rig was left attached to the car! So what are Ferrari to do!?
