Brutal Wheel Cleaners - recommendations pls

Got some alloys wheels for my new car off ebay today.

Bit of a bargain...came with 4 goodyears but the wheels are CAKED in brake dust so my tescos cleaner isn'tr doing the job.

I need something more powerful...any recommendations?

Used that wonderwheels stuff before and that was ok...guessing there might be some kind of 'industrial' version available which may be better?

Help appreciated - i need the wheel trims gone!

I've used wonderwheels before. Basically I reckon it's brick acid.

Get it on your skin and you know about it. Getting it in your eye doesnt even bear thinking about.

Yeah but you could say the same about lemon juice or caustic soda or sodium hydroxide or anything and they're all household cleaners.

If you're got a spare week or so to kill i'd check out A world for detailers...

Also use a good brush, anything stiff but obviously less hard than aluminium

i used a specific thing from halfords, like a piece of scothbrite with a handle, only a couple of quid, quite handy.

Is that better than wonder wheels?

The wheels are seriously baked with brake dust...the worst i've seen TBH.

Went for wonderwheels - 22 quid for 5 litres.

Took an hour per wheel to get them respectable which gives you an idea of the state!

Sadly one of the tyres has slash in it so they won't be going on for a while...
