2br 1ba 850sq ft £55,417.23

2br 1.5ba 1,300 sq ft £63,806.08

2br 1.5ba 1,200sq ft 1car garage (just built) £86,379.70

Whatever it costs now, it will be half that in 4-5 years time.

I don't think market will 'correct' itself that much Neal, only a crash would do that and nothing is certain in all respects, and its all guess work. 4-5 year projection of 50% is a bit 'out there' though, most saying 20-25%.

If you wanted to give my folks 300,000 euro you could have this (about the money we are talking I suppose):

please forgive unfinished render on small wall. lol

edit: 3 bedrooms, 2 natural springs for water, util room, large hall, living room and kitchen. One bedroom has onsuite, with a staircase built for a second level.

(for a comparison on what you get for your money! US is crazy, all wood though)

what's wrong with wood? it works and it'll last longer than i will :P (though I do prefer brick, looks better IMO) My last house was concrete block/stucco that place was crap, cracks everywhere, front end of the house was coming off heh.

how about this one than

3br 2.5ba 900sq ft £119,477.52

only thing, it's on an island, and yer not aloud to have a car there. (mostly summer homes) http://www.diamondcove.com/

or in the town I work in
View Details - Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage
£1,220,195.96
211 western promenade, portland, ME - Google Maps

actually town I work in has loads of brick buildings, but they're in town so generally no parking, itty bitty lot and high prices, more in line with what you guys are talking about over there. This is why I drive 30 miles to work every day, way too expensive to live near work. My mortgage would be at least double
