Sold my car :D

After only advertising it on one site really and here i have finally sold my renault 19. So finally down to 2 cars

But how I sold it I still cant believe it.

Got an email asking if the car was still for sale and if so can I ring this number to let him know. I did this and he said he wasn't free at the weekend but come and view it this week. He would ring me monday to organise a time.

Well monday came, got the phone call and it got organised for wednesday to come take a look.

They turned up as expected and started taking a look, as you normally expect when people want to buy a car. Then they started going into a lot more detail on the car. and making sure that the suspension was standard. They also mentioned about a chip in the screen and saying about what area that is in. Due to the detail they were going in i asked if they were an MOT inspector, the bloke said yes.

They then wanted to take the car out for a drive. Being causious I asked for an insurance certificate, this is where it all got interesting.

They didn't pull out a insurance certificate but pulled out a police badge. God knows what things running through my head now. They worked for the suffolk constabulary.

They then started to explain why they needed the car. They were investigating a fatel accident involving a renault 19 16v chamade. They are going to use the car to test how it reacts with the set of wheels the bloke had in the car and if some things were the cause of the accident. They said they will try not to damage the car but cant promise anything. Dont think i would want to sell the car knowing that it was going to be destroyed.

Sounds like that bloke who sold his Alpine to a 'film company'
It ended up being driven into a concrete barrier by Clarkson and written off which was a total and utter shame as the Alpine in question was in mint condition and was the first 'Best of Show' winner at the first World Series by Renault in 2005

They wont be hitting any cars, they just want to see how the car reacts with the same tyres as the one which had the accident. The car will be put up for auction afterwards. Do not know of place yet, but they will ring when they have finished, or so they have told. Then ill buy it back for pennies hopefully. I could have held out more, but from hassle from parents with driveways and lots of cars, i needed to go down to 2 cars. This way now i have money to put restore the convertible and tax and insure the car. All ready through MOT.

a lot of it is just staged for entertainment of course.

a know someone whose maserati's steering column snapped just as he was gonna go round a corner, needless to say it didnt, lol, suprisingly, it put him of them for life
