CTS - Fucked much?

Looks like Mr Rust has been attacking the CTS, so I changed it today, we'll see what it's like I've got a 50 mile journey to do! Wish me luck haha!

Still smells a bit rich though!

that just controls the temp gauge on the dash, nothing else.

My car still smells a bit rich? Still reckon its the lambda?

Its purely for driving the dial on the dash...if its wrong it just means you look at the dial and think its wrong. It doesn't effect the running of the car.

if its the lambda it will have been poisoned by the owver rich running. Unplug it see if it calms down a bit.

To clean it go on a decent long drive 250 miles or so.

Or unscrew it and use the blow torch on it. If you do that you can also check it for switchign with a multimeter.

Is it possible to get a new lambda for cheap (excluding scrappers yard)? I see loads on ebay for £16 (universal ones) but as with most things they seem to good to be true.

universal ones used to be the ones to avoid.

But tbh these days they have come along nicely so uni ones should be ok.

The original is bosch which along with NTK (made by ngk) they are the ultimate and the ones to really go for if you can afford it.

hmm let me think? nope ya fud

you just need to take it out get the blowtorch on it. The black stuff on it will crack and ping off so watch your eyes. It will glow, when its clean (you will knwo when its clean) pass it back and forth past the tip. uuse a multimeter one probe has to be attahced to the sensor body and the other to the black signal wire on the plug, the voltage should change quickly when you pass the blowtorch past the tip.
