Legal thing

how do you stand legally when taking a car for its MoT when its been off the road for a while, No Tax, and insurance wise, bearing in mind it might not actually pass? maybe i should ask the old bill.............

ring the mot place first. They will (should) cover you for having no tax to drive to and from the test station. But insurance is up to you. If you havent got it, you're not legally allowed to drive it.

You are allowed to take it for an MOT aslong as its booked in at the garage. You must have insurance though!

about 8 miles is the one i wanna go to, think he may be slightly lenient of minor things, also gives it a fair run before being tested

That just shows how bent this country is; in that a company will insure a car regardless of it's roadworthiness.

Also needing insurance to tax a vehicle, what a load of bollocks.
