Clutch
How long do you think it'd take me (whoose never done it before) to change a R5 (non turbo) clutch?
Also, if i took it somewhere how much would i be looking at, given the cheapness /simplicity of the car? Cheers |

How long it'd take you depends on how handy you are with spanners and how much experience you have. If you know your way round a car it may take 3 hours or it could take you 10 if you've never done it before.
Taking it to a garage is the same, you may find a place who will do it for £200 then again another place may sting you for £400!

a clutch place will charge about £200. doing the clutch on the 5 is a right royal pain in the backside, when I've done them before on my 5 I did it with the engine out, but thats a bit extreme. all the bolts are easy to get to except the ones on the back by the starter then droping the box out the way is a pain but it can be done.
