Sunroof Drains

Hi Everyone,
Could anyone advise me on how to clear the drains for the sunroof an a 93 19 16V? I only ask, because I have a feeling mine might be clogged up or something. I was just gonna blast some compressed air through the lines, but thought I was best checking first!

Thanks, Stu.

I only suspect the drains after Bidderman1969 suggested the puddle that sometimes greets me may be because of blocked drains. Either that or rotten sills. I hope it's not the sills though, because I hate havin to mess around with bodyshops, and I'm Shite with a welder!

I agree! Living where I live in the countryside, and driving to Liverpool for work would collect some Shite! I'll try and do somethin on them at the weekend, I could maybe use the Pit at work. Its meant for Coaches, but I'm sure can handle a 19! S.

Have both wheel arch liners out straight away, you don't need to remove the wheels they are just held in by 5 push clips.

Clear the 4 inches of dirt that's collected and you'll see the end of the sunroof drain tube.

At the top, the sunroof drains through each of the 4 corners into pipes between the roof and the inside headlining (which can be removed) which in turn feed down the pillars

Will I need to glue the lining back uo though if I remove it?

Speaking of the wheels, I'm gonna have mine refurbished because they have started flaking a bit. Should look good when they've been done!

The lining is held up by velcro in the middle and if i remember correctly held in round the edge by the plastic interior - so yes it is replaceable

Cool, won't end up like my Uncle Paul then! He took the liner down on his Sierra and when he put it back up it was never right. After a month he coudn't speak to his passenger, because they were hidden by the sagging roof lining!

they don't drain into the sills its not a ford.

The rear drains out through the boot floor and the front out the inner wings into the arch liner area as tib said.

I understand thats not where they drain to. My uncle took his liner down to fix a faulty wire or somethin. Though now that you've mentioned the drain to the boot, it could explain the small damp patch I find in there sometimes. Although that'll most likely turn out to be the boot lid seal or somethin. Thanks For all your help fellas, I'm very greatful for it. S.

A Chamade, I've noticed the damp in the boot a couple of times, but have always put it at the back of my mind. Unfortunatley Today a lady in a 4x4 managed to take a chunk of paint off my spoiler with her rear door when she parked by me.

She was gonna ignore it, until I got out and confronted her. I said "Look What you've done, I think we should exchange details" She said "Why are you even bothering? Your car is so old it's not worth fixing." I took down her number plate, and took a photo on my phone of the door still stuck in the wing. She then swapped numbers, and told me her Husband would be in touch. I'll just ask him for cash, as it's easier than fannying about.

These women in Chelsea Tractors seem to think they're above other motorists, but they shit themselves when they play chicken with me in my coach, and bottle it!
