We're feeling down today

we lost our pet baby rabbit early this morning, quite sudden, stopped eating and we couldnt do much for her.

anyone know of a good source for information about them, and a damn good vet prefferably in the south of england, as we will probably get another in the new year somewhen.

I used to work in my University days at Pets at Home so I've got plenty of information I can pass on when you need it.

My sympathies to you and the family, 'tis never nice losing a much loved pet, our doggie was run over ~ 2 months ago now so I can understand what it's like.

cheers Ben, may well take you up on that, a couple of things made it worse, first that it all started to happen on a sunday, when you cant get simple things (ideally was gonna try some Colic drops, but nowhere was open!) and the vet was next to useless, gave her the basics, didn't wanna spend too much time on a sunday, and the fact you cant do anything to help them, stayed up until 04.30 trying to give her water and food, and at about 8.30, half asleep and being helpless and seeing her die painfully. god it hurts.

feel guilty, as tho i should have stayed up all the time, or got up at least half an hour earlier, maybe could have done something, those vital minutes could have been crucial

i know she isnt a dog, or a cat, but she was just as cute, so just incase anyone wanted to see her.......

might not be a dog or a cat but you fed it and played with it in the same way so its just like losing a cat or dog.

Yup! Not a bother on him apart from the obvious handicap of having an eye missing

yep Chet, she was a dwarf lop eared, and she was only 6 months old, thats why its so sad really, if she was getting on, and near the end of her life, then, suprisingly, its easier to cope, sad but easier, if that makes sense.

thought we'd have her for about 8 years too

i just felt helpless, couldnt do anything to help her.

first time i have had a rabbit, i musr admit i wasnt keen when my other half had her delivered, but jesus, i miss her so much now. if anyone else has thought about a rabbit, and like me, thought they wouldnt have much character, do think again, they are really nice to have around, she was an indoor rabbit btw
