Don't forget the 100 Billion pound tax raid he carried out the UKs pension fund at the expense of ordinary people who was looking forward to a semi comfortable retirement.

It appears to me that people who want to be MPs and work in the cabinet etc do it for one main reason, to see how much money they can fleece out of ordinary members of the public and what makes that even worse is how they go about it, hiding those taxes as much as possible or labeling them as 'green taxes' to justify them, examples being wanting to charge people for throwing away rubbish, the more you throw, the more you pay, of course he fails to remember that we already DO pay for our rubbish to be thrown away via council tax payments!
So another attempt at a stealth tax there Mr Brown and sticking with the rubbish side of things, cutting down on bin collections from weekly to fortnightly, what a brilliant idea!
So we are all going to keep that nasty smelling rotting food inside our houses for two weeks (because the council can and will fine you if you leave it outside your property, yet another nasty little money maker) or leave it outside for two weeks in your garden where it will attract vermin which can lead to mouse and rat infestations plus the problem of urban foxes increasing and a health risk to the public.
My downstairs neighbour being a prime example, his rubbish including his two baby daughters nappies go into black sacks left in the front garden for a week between collections which get raided by the foxes at a night time and dirty filthy shit ridden nappies get spread across the garden which my downstairs neighbour will then deny they are anything to do with him and just leave them there, lovely (thank God they are moving out next week)
I could go on and on and on!
then they wonder theres a fly tipping problem

same sort of thing here, you pay per bag of trash, by buying special trash bags. but this is a 'fee' not a 'tax' Plus there is NO trash pick up I have to drive it to the transfer station on the other end of town Bags are done to 'encourage more recycling'

So instead I've hired a private trash company to pick up my garbage weekly. so I have trash pick up and no more stupid pay bags. This trash service costs me about 1/2 what I was spending on those bags every month. Still have to drag my recycling to the transfer station, so in reality those bags discourage recycling!

Also in the last few months they've added more fees used to be I could drop off brush, lawn clippings, fall leaves etc for free which was than composted and the mulch was given away free to residents. Now I have to pay a fee to dump my brush AND pay a fee for that mulch... On top of that you have to pay with special coupons, you can only get at town hall which is opened week days 8:30-4PM. With my commute I leave the house at 7 and get home at 6... oh that pile of lawn clippings in the street, nooo I have no idea where that came from...

At least that's akin to a free market, you can choose whose refuse collection sevice you want to use.

Here it's the council tax, no choice. Refuse to pay and they'll put you in jail.

Imagine running a business where you can charge what you like for your products/services and your customers are forced to buy them from you or they get thrown in jail. You can increase the price as much and as often as you want, provide less and less and they still have no choice but to pay! Brilliant!

free market is where it's at.

Love the private trash pick up more than I thought I would. these guys put my trash cans back neatly with the lids stacked or put on top if it's raining to keep the cans from filling with water. citys I've lived in with trash pickup, I'd be happy if my trash cans were still with in 100 feet of my property. usually they'd be down the street all beat up from being hit by cars.
