Interior plastic colour

All my wiring harnesses are in now, so tomorrow night I'll hopefully be getting on with installing the 16v interior plastics.

However I'm not too keen on the grey (although it's better than the blue!)

So the thought crossed my mind that I could spray them all satin black?

But I've no idea how it would come out. So opinions please people!

That's what I was going to go for, it just struck me when I offered the plastic up that's all, black carpet, black seats etc. The grey really stands out when you get it in there!

Noticed in Dialogys that Renault show aprt numbers for 2 interior plastics paints listed as light ash and dark ash. Maybe the do a black one listed for another car.

Made a now boot carpet for mine using the old one as a template. This as result of previous owner having had a litre of oil spilt. I also stuck a thin layer of metalised house insulation between the boot floor and the carpet

The top part of my dash is still grey, with black seats. It doesn't look out of place. I'd change the whole dash before I'd paint it.

Friend of mine did a color change on his Jetta a few years back.

Quote:
Dupli-color vinyl and carpet paint. Take all the pillars and clean them with something like paint thinner. It will dull the surface and make the paint adhere very well. Headliner just spray and rub down with dryer sheets when dry. Held up great for me.

Well I've fitted the interior in the factory colour for now, went in easier than I thought and now I know how it all goes back together it's no bother to rip out again if I fancied doing it!

Getting the engine fitted is the priority now though.
