yet another dilemma

looking for a van for the car detailing business, choices so far is this...

has no MOT and going for about £400

or a blown engine Kangoo, and look to offer £300 for it, they want £595 + VAT, or wait til i sell the chammy, and put it towards a nicer Kangoo

as long as it's a manual and you change the timing belt(if that's a 5cyl) the minute you get it.. I'd say get the VW.

ive got a sprinter (53 reg) , two vw lt's(55 reg) and a kangoo(57), how big does it need to be for all your stuff bazza?

Kangoos are good to drive, more like a car than a van, the volks will drive like a van but are sturdy and reliable as long as maintenance is kept up and parts are relatively cheaper than the Renault

just my opinion tho :-)

the lt's are absolutely shit to drive and slow. The sprinters are good.

The kangoo with the popped engine the guy having a laugh? 6 ton? Knock a zero off and maybe.

Why does the vw not have an mot? I fixed these and all other commercials for a living so know how much can go wrong.

mine are 55 plates the older ones, seen a few new crafters with dodgy rear axles down here too, bigger load space but not any mgw, ours are only at 160k and 172k so keeping them for now

and those bloody indicators on the mirrors are £26 each and you know what most van drivers are like, they use mirrors to judge widths :-)

that VW would go for three times as much over here. really total rustbuket with a slipping automatic is good for $1500 or so. (manuals are beyond rare, only came here for 1993)

not sure why the VW doesnt have an MOT, unless there is something wrong with it somewhere, bit of welding or something, have to give him a ring, its also done 180K.

might give the Kangoo company a bell, and see why the engines gone. might be cheeky and leave my number with them and an offer, they'll probably say its worth a fair bit in spare parts

at the moment, the niggest things are like a Pressure Washer, and Halogen lights on a stand, and pop-up marquee/gazebo thingy, that stretches out to 3M x 3M, but if i got the VW i could add a water tank at a later stage, and maybe a compressor, and more racking of course, and the VW has a towbar aswell i think
