The spring return in my ignition switch for the starter motor has broken. so pulled out the ignition switch and ripped it apart. found the broken spring and turned it around, had fun with all the keylock springs and plungers but got it all back together.
installed back into the steering column and worked ok mechanically, yep key returned ok from the starter motor position, one problem but---the ignition switch behind the key now didnt work. bugger. Pulled it out again and found the switch had broken apart. so cut off the 2 plugs and biffed the whole lock-switch in the bin. re-wired the plugs to the 2 spare switches next to the column (spot lights). one is now the ignition, and the other the press button starter. Works great. who needs a key to start, no one would figure out how to pinch my car now.---except you who may read this...
