This is a general reanult problem all models suffer it.
You get in the car insert the key and try to start it and the starter won't turn the engine over.
Assuming any immobilisers etc have been disengaged it should start but theres nothing.
what it will probably be assuming of course the battery etc are fine is the starter solenoids not getting its feed.
This feed wire is always playing up. Its a white wire that comes from the main engine loom. It has a spade terminal with a plastic cover on it. It corrodes, falls off and just gets loose with age.
If the spade connector has fallen off the wire then you need to crimp a new connector in it which is easy enough.
Usually though its just loose/fallen off so you need to squash the connector with pliers so the grip on the terminal tightens and that should be the problem solved.
This particular car had a dodgy connector
so it was cut off and a new connector fitted, the engine was out but its easy enough to do with the engine in place
