all depends on how good you are soldering

my technique for removing the old chip takes about 30 seconds heh

BIG tip on the iron with the lowest melting point solder (plumbing solder is usually good for this), run the solder along both sides of the chip on the underside of the board so the solder is flowing along both lines then bang it down on the table (padded) and the chip is off lol

BUT this technique is not for those new to soldering as it does take practise (I worked in electronics for about 12 years)
