Instructions for Tournament Referees



1. Referees are responsible for checking player passes andequipment for each player prior to the start of the game.

2. Home team chooses side of field where they want to set up.Visiting team sets up along the same touch line, but across center line.Spectators set up on opposite touch line. No spectators behind goal lines.

3. Home team provides game ball and game card.

4. All halves will be 25 minutes in length with a 5-minute halftime. With the exception of designated championship and consolation games, allties will stand.

5. Game must start within 5 minutes of designated time (unlessspecial circumstances, not created by either team, prevents it).

6. Standard CYSA substitution rules are in effect.

7. Designated championship and consolation games tied afterregulation time will have two 5-minute overtime periods added. (Play the fulltwo five-minute periods.) If the game is still tied at the conclusion of theovertime periods the match will be decided by penalty kicks.

8. The referee for each game is responsible for completing theSportsmanship and Fair Play Evaluation (attached to the game card) for eachteam at the conclusion of the game.

9. All red-card send offs must be reported to the Field Marshalat the conclusion of the game.

10. Allred-card send off reports must be submitted to the Marty Von Raesfeld, LeagueTournament Director, by the end of the day.

11. At theconclusion of the game, the referees must give the game card and evaluation tothe Field Marshal.

12. Inorder to receive payment, each referee must sign the Tournament Referee PaymentVerification Form.
