Oh and yes, I live in a house of wood. I'd love a nice brick house, but they're not very common. Last house I owned was concrete block, much prefer wood to that crap.

Garage, it's not nearly big enough to be a barn.

this house has a proper barn (not far from my place I drive by it every day and drool) notice the smallest building on that lot, that's a garage(400sq ft bigger than mine)
88 winter st topsham, me - Google Maps

(can see some in the background of this shot)

it's on a hill too, so it's really about 40' tall

Living room got some love yesterday (and more today and sat)

I was going for repairing a small patch of loose/cracked plaster in the corner. But my uncle is a bit of a perfectionist so he decided to fix all the flaws in the room while he was at it.

nothiogn wrong with a good timber house.

The truth is all new build houses here are timber framed with a single brick skin on the outside.

Cheap and shoddy which is why they are so poor and fall down. The wood they are made from isn't even treated and its lef tout in all weathers. The frustration of buildign a house with rotten timbers is infuriating and they sell them for 200k at the end of it!

as long as you keep the water out, wood works. Mine was a one owner house, built in 1931. owners were french... so it needed a lot of electrical work *chuckle*
