Greetings from a newbie

Hello everyone. I'm not sure if my '95 Espace qualifies as a "retro", but I have just bought it and is my first Renault. It needs quite a lot of work and hopefully some of you guys may be able to help from time to time as I like to try and do as much I can myself. Maybe in the future I may even be able to pass on anything I have learned

At the moment mainly electrics and some niggling little door locking probs. It drives really well so I think it's worth a bit of TLC

Hope this works

Vehicle looks quite tidy from the outside. I think it may have been stolen or vandalised.

Looks pretty smart actully, it's still got a good deep red colour!

If you talk to Bidderman1969 on here, he'll advise you on the best product to use to make the bumpers black again

Out of interest what's the engine in that?

why would someone steal an espace?! certainly not to joyride

seriously though car looks tidy, i like the capabilites of the espace.

"The Espace is often credited as being the world's first MPV ... The Espace's design was originally conceived in the 1970s by the British designer, Fergus Pollock" wikipedia

It's got the 2.1 TD diesel engine, I don't know much about this engine, is it considered a reliable one?
The reason I thought it may have had a dubious past is that the ignition switch has been removed, the radio appears to have been "ripped" out and the log book had gone missing.
Just a couple of questions:
Would this be a phase 1?

Would it have had roof rails/bars? There's three pairs of torx bolts along each side. Every picture I've seen of the Espace has got either rails or bars, so I'm thinking they may have been removed.

that's not a phase 1. It is an "N" plate. Phase 1 looks like this...

I would love one in my lotto win fleet of motors! Remember being so impressed in 1980 something by one of these and the seats turning, giant sunroof, table, sliding door etc.

They had problems with Waterleaks at the base of the windscreen, This could be the cause of the electrical gremlins. I do like them though
