Red face forgot to say hi

...posted yesterday re 'stuck' rotor arm. used prev forum for advice on front wheel bearing - and managed to save £150 by buying it myself and getting wee local mechanic to fit! thanks guys!!

my next wee mini project is to fix the lock on the door - someone broke into the car and - wait for it - stole an ikea bag filled with stuff for the charity shop - and all my old tapes (yeh, tapes had about 100/150 tapes in the boot - my 80's collection!

then there's the passenger door lock - which has never worked.

oh yeh, and after that (or maybe before) i need to find the source of the water that flooded through the back roof into the car yesterday as i climbed into the boot to open the back passenger door so that i could climb out and open the driver door to get to the distributor (been climbing in for a few weeks now - i'm sure my neighbours think i'm a wee bit touched

ok, just wanted to say hi, and thanks! this is a brilliant forum!

hi tib - actually maybes something to do with rear screen washer jet (also never worked). it had been raining quite heavy. 's given me somewhere to start. ta!

hi chris - i'm in london (5 years now ) but from partick (glasgow )
i picked up a couple of locks from an online breakers. should've tried you guys first! thanks for offer!

yeh, 80's music. keep remembering more tapes that have gone, and getting pissed off again. thing is they probably dumped it in someone's bin round the corner. mates in work think it's hysterical! wonder what they thought of my clothes for the charity shop!

Rear screen washer - on mine there's a join in the pipe (runs from the pump under the bonnet to the rear washer jet), this was bust when i picked up the car so rinsing the rear screen just meant getting water in the driver's footwell!

That was fixed easily enough (pipe runs under the drivers sill interior grey trim) but it still didnt work, that's cos the washer jet itself was blocked - as i found out when it self destructed under its new found pressure! 2 man job to push the exterior jet moulding (exterior) onto the supply pipe (interior) but otherwise, yes it would empty out through the grey ceiling moulding at the rear of the car!

EDIT: Get some more 80's mates, lol! I have 'Bad' in my car all the time

Does this count as a project report?

thanks for that tib! i was just wandering round the car today (in between wrestling with the rotor arm) thinking - where the hell did the water come from? what a relief to know where to start!

yeh, more 80's mates for sure. can't be doing with people who've never heard of joy division, echo and the bunnymen, the cure, siouxsie and the banshees.... (i'm getting emotional again about my tapes) as for 'Bad', that is quite bad, lol. keep the windows up and def don't sing along! jk!
