Megane Plip Key Nightmare - Retro-Renault

Hi, I used to log onto the old site and am just new here. My spare key stopped working on my Megane about 2 years ago, did I do anything about it , eh no. Two weeks ago the main key refused to work and I was forced to leave the car in town and go back to work. After arranging an AA tow to the Bank of Renault UK, I went back to the car and it worked. I knew I had to get the problem fixed and Renault offered to recode the key for £35. Took it out to the Renault garage on the edge of town , in the pouring rain, parked it and blow me the key failed again, I could not lock the car.
Anyhoo, the main fault was, water had leaked in through the aerial socket(note car washes are bad for fixed aerials) and they replaced the sensor unit and recoded both keys. Ok fair enough bill £175, which included their flipping car safety check. Got home after using the spare key and lo and behold spare key does not work anymore. I'm booked back in the get the spare key recoded again but I'm fecked if I'm paying any more.
