Project Bun in the Oven
Project Bun in the Oven
Oooh man I love the cake!
Published by Chet T16

Introduction

Cakes, everyboby loves cakes. With this in mind Hanna suggested we spend the afternoon making some. Realising it would get me out of doing any actual work like DIY or hoovering i agreed.

Off to tescos we went to get the required goodies

You will need one of these puppies. This piece of high tech equipment was sourced in tescos, as was the wooden spoon. The bowl is from asda which we imported ourselves

Firstly you need to weigh out your ingredients. 4lb of self raising flour

Of course to prevent any nasty mess on your clothes you should have a sexy apron. Bom chicka wah wah!

This is how you weigh out your caster sugar, 4lb again. If you try this at home be advised that you'll neither do it this well or look so good.

Now we need buttery taste flora. Check out the big spoon little spoon flora flicking action.

Throw the buttery taste flora into your bowl (tescos) and sieve in your castor sugar

Use your big tescos wooden spoon to mix it up. Check out the muscles

Mix until it has the same consistency as 4lb of buttery taste flora and 4lb of caster sugar mixed well.

If you have a helper you can get this to grease up the baking tin things with some buttery taste flora. Hanna done these, didn't she do well?

Now grab your 2 eggs and crack them into a cup or mug or bowl or something. I choose a mug that matches my bowls but thats because i am a professional.

Give them a quick beating to get them mixed up

Throw them into your bowl and mix it while sieving in the flour

Now we need the vanilla essence

I love butter and sugar mixed together, I often have to fight with my mum when she makes cake for a fingerful of the fatty, sugary goodness.

Good work.

hmm butter icing's lovely, nothad it in a long time.

In fact now its just me I haven't actually had anythign sweet in a long time. Well i tell a lie, I had a creme egg today (18p morrisons bargain!).

Instead I seem to have turned into an obligate carnivore aside from fruit juice.

Chet I want at least 1 cake posted to me.

was there a proffesional reason for putting jam on before the icing? i would have put the icing on first then the jam, so it glides over effortlessly. im not saying what you have done is wrong btw

The jam sticks to the cake so you can get an even coating rather than chase it around on top of the icing
