Project lazy boy
Project lazy boy

Introduction

well, as some of you will know, I'm turning in to a lazy bastard. So to that end I've decided to work with Air tools and create a fairly comprehensive garage set at my home.

firstly I needed a compressor, this came in the form of a repossessed 3BHP Sealy compressor with 50L tank. because it's repossessed stock it was cheaper then the others on the bay by a good £150 and weighed in at a stunning £91 delivered.

it's quiet running, has all the features of compressor 4 & 5 times it's price and is more than capable of running 9 CMF and 120 PSI.

There are still a few on the bay and TBH I would highly recommend one to anyone wanting a small garage system.

in relation to my big tool box so you can size it.

Next I needed an air line which came in at a hefty £10 delivered. It is however a requirement so the money had to be spent.

Having thought about what I would need to run a spray gun I invested in an air regulator with water separator. this is needed to stop all that water going into your tools and the paint whilst you spray and was £22 delivered.

I now realised the need for another hose and connections. Thankfully 2 kind souls from the forum offered to help me out with some of the parts I needed. (these will be added once I receive them.)

Now I'm not going to spray anything without a gun, so I bought a Sealy Gold series gravity gun for £32 but using my e-bay discount it only came to 25 delivered. I also paid 3 pound for a leader hose as it recommends them on the instructions to stop vibration damage to the quick coupler.

Now, over the last few weeks I've been striping the paint off of some alloys Chris H sold me. It's a long ol slog to get it done but it's coming along well but I occasionally will need to sweep the garage. That's not an option if you are a true lazy bastard so I invested in an air duster! lol

these are handy as hell as you can use them to get the crap out of the shite areas in your car too. It was only £3.49 to the door!

more to come as things turn up, get donated to the cause or I buy another tool to expand the collection.

total spent so far £161.49

Thanks Tom, hopefully this will show people that you can have air tools for what really is, not a lot of money.

This lot so far cost less than most 3BHP compressors and it's all new. The only factor thats would stop you having them i guess is if you dont have the space for them.

haha, I wish! looks like the compressor hasn't got the puff it's advertised as having. Took the air tools into work to test them as the compressor wasn't doing it's job and they worked fine. so looks like i may have to get a more powerfull compressor to do the job.

should be able to flog this one on e-bay easy enough though as it's new.
