Amarone
::::: AMARONE :::::
Just back from there. I had the Tonno e spada affumicato (tuna and swordfish) to start, the tuna slices were sadly over oiled with the olive oil, the swordfish whilst generally a tough fish was not to bad, this was mainly due to it not being cooked, at most from what I could tell it had simply been flash fried. There was also the green crap 9salad) and a slice of lemon followed up with Pollo Limone (lemon chicken and mash basically), this was also accompianied with diced carrots and turnips, these were not a wise choice to serve with this dish i feel. The chicken appeared to be nice and fresh and succulent, alas afte tthe initial layers of meat were taken back it appeared that the meat had had a direct injection, seemingly from a Jiff Lemon. The potatoes were swimming ont he outside with the lemon style gravy, thankfully that was enough to moisten the dry pototaoes to suit my taste. I have to say the general mood of the place was not to my taste, the staff whilst generally friendly some were very rude, the blonde waitress hit my arm with her arse twice, we only had limited time at the table (an hour and a half) due to the fact we had not booked a table, despite only 2 courses each we just managed to clear in time, so that gives an indication of speed of service. For 3 of us £60 which to be honest was nicely in the average price range. A decidedly average meal which goes with the average price tag. On the way home we stopped and picked up a bannana fritter from the chinky for pudding which gets an 8 out of 10
