Kentucky Fried Chicken

Well from what I remember KFC was greasy poultry scrag ends in a cardboard bucket.

Anyhow, on the way back from fcs, i'd been eating all day and was still hungry. So I though I'd try and make it half way back then stop for food and an oil top up.

Rolled into the M42 services south of Birmingham, my favourite services as it's always clean and tidy and the staff have amusing ways of speaking (accents)

Walked in, there was Burger King or KFC and some coffee places. Well I already fancied trying KFC after they'd got their name onto the motorway sign so it was there I headed. Interesting that I had to queue in about 30 people when BK next door was deserted and the staff were bored standing around picking their nose and scratching their fleas no doubt.

Went for Chicken Popcorn meal, large of course. Was incredibly satisfying. Yeah the girl on the tills was absolutely stunning and not fat yet, also the food was great. Crispy chips that are fatter and tastier than BK's limp offerings or even McD's. Plus I go 3 ketchups which was nice. And when I asked for 7-up without ice they topped it up: nicer!

SO -

KFC is by far the best fast food you can get without going as far and pricey as the chinese/indian route. My personal favourite is the "Wicked Zinger" box, then towering it up for another 30ish pennies. For which you get a zinger tower burger, fries, drink, 2 hot wings and a side of your choice all neatly boxed. Our new shopping mall has KFC, pizza hut, Maccy D, spud u like, garfunkles, noodle place and some other posh place all on one floor and KFC is by far the most busy.

Chicken fillet burgers have lettuce and mayo.

KFC is hit and miss if you don't go the burger route, as sometimes the chicken pieces are really pish and not cooked right, boneless box is the best option.

That story was going when I was about 13, and every now and again it gets revised to, "hey, ma pal's cousin was at KFC the other day and got a fillet burger and the chicken had a cyst on it and it exploded".

Firstly, a fillet burger has no skin, and secondly, as the pieces are all cut up on the ones thay do have skin, the skin would be too loose to maintain the cyst, and thirdly, it would burst in the fryer as the skin tightened, shrunk and the liquid heated up.

Aye I know, I'm just saying how a story that is at least 25 yrs old, happened last week, and the original story came from the US.

No doubt the hillbillie that started the rumour had never had mayonaise before.

That chicken cyst story is like the "McDonalds shakes contain whale blubber/mashed up paper/the used chip fat/potato/god knows what" thing you always used to hear in school.
