filling the rad and letting it sit like that won;t necessarily tell you anything, might only leak when it's hot/under pressure.

How did you clean up the fan bracket like that, grit blast?

That other hose clip - chisel, sidecutters, they don't put up much of a fight so just go at it!

point taken, still, now its clean, might be easier to see if it leeks

nah, just a quick rub down the worst rust, and a spray up, looks ok?
