R19 16V ph.1 Rebuild
R19 16V ph.1 Rebuild

Introduction

The story begins in Juni 2004, I've bought the Renault 19 16V with several problems for a good price..

After driving 3 years with the car, the car was very rusty at the bottom, behind the skirts and under the doors..

The car was beautiful, looks great... what was the reason to rebuild the car.. looks great at the outside..

The engine was bad, leaking at the valveseals, noisy valve tappets, leaking on several gaskets, the only thing was performance, it performed great!

The moment was there

Dissamble the engine..

A broken bolt from the subframe..

And the bad news.. Crashed or something ?

And.. Fix it

ABS ? Throw it away

Fixing the front on the right

And... the rusty bottom

The right side

The left side

The right side at front

The left side at front

Ive stripped the interior so i can weld the bottom and to check the bottom from the other side..

The plan is to fix it and overspray it in the same color (449) or in Clio Grand Prix Blue (432)

The deadline of the project is about April/May 2008.. and when its finished come to the French Car Show 2008 in England...

oooo check him out and his fancy lift

Nice work, another Ph1 being saved and it would be more than welcome at the French Car Show 2008, will you be showing as part of a club from your country or will you be doing us the honour of putting it on the retro-renault stand ?

These photographs are very very good. I love your project!
I'm really glad you are throwing away the ABS - this is what I am doing at the moment

Really looking forward to seeing this at French Car Show!! Great work.
