Introduction

will be adding reports and pics to the on going work carried out on the valver
got the calipers off this afternoon and forgot how much fun cleaning them was lol il get some pics up tmrw .also ordered new lambda sensor so when that turns up il get on with that in the mean time im stripping the top struts off and old wishbones and anti roll bar drop links and arb bushes

right my new bits turned up which consisted of front wishbones,anti drop links track rod arms
il get some pics up tmrw so ive fitted the drivers wishbone new anti drop link track rod arm looks alot better as all old bushes were very perished started stripping the n/s so il get the new parts on tmrw pics to follow
finally got some pics up







ive ordered some new parts from gsf which include new cv boots both sides female rod end and top struts asoon as these parts arrive il get straight on with the project o happy days
on inspection of the front outer cv boots i had noticed theyd both seen better days

also the one i broke shttered in to lots of pieces but could be fixed

next job when i get these fitted is the top struts which i have and inner arb bushes then i can get the newly reburbed calipers back on il keep you all posted as i get on with it
right brought another valver so im brwaking this one to use for the new one its a white clio 1.8 16v runs very well after taking it for the mot it failed as per usual also failed on the 2 inner sills this will be the biggest job that needs doing apart from that its all pritty straight forward .
18th september 2008-started stripping the old valver for parts i love stripping cars because it comes off alot easier than it goes on anyway il get some picturs up of the work im doing and some picturs of the parts ive replaced
22nd september 2008 started to strip the old valver got all the suspension off and front bumper and wings also gfot the rad off as you can see theres alot of rust hiding behind the wings and bumper


23rd september 2008
got off work abit earlier today so set about getting the engine out so i removed all the engine loom and ecu (sold) and got a chance to use my new toy which has been sat in the garage for far to long

more action to follow as it unfolds nxt plan is to drop sub frame and rear axle

29th september 2008 as you can see she is totally stripped bar the sunroof and subframe have 1 remaining stubon bolt to re,ove from the subby then she will be getting cut up and taken away


as soon as this is gone i can start work on my white valver i got the sills done on saturday good job done so now i have to work my way down the mot failure sheets .
2nd october 2008
got the rest of the blue valver stripped this afternoon and now shes ready for valver heaven i cut her up because she will be going on the pickup and its to make her lighter to lift

also wanted to expose the rot and why do people think that if they fill all there problems will go away



so now shes ready to go so i can start the work on the white valver cant wait .

no progress has been made on the white valver although ive got a nice pile of shiny bits ready to go on but with the weather bad light goes about 5 oclock now lack of power in my garage in the village and no way of getting it in the garage at my house.

common rust spot on them, the water goes under the seal and then sits in the join where the panels are spot welded together and rots out.

Use thinners or similar to get the glue residue off the floor, then spray it.

cheers tib yeah wasnt as hard as once thought alot easier than i was expecting also whats the purpose of the metal plug type things in the floors and bootfloor etc and has anyone ever thought of filling the sills with expanding foam or does this seem silly?

the plugs are for location on the factory when lifted out the die etc. Also make handy places to pop out when the cars flooded.

Expanding foam is a sure fire way to seriously rotten sills
