Dan's 19 16v PH1 Black Hatch

Right, well as im going to be gradually doing up my hatch, bought it from a garage with a snapped cambelt, paid £100, did the engine, then the bottom end went, so that is now my project engine, im lightening and balencing everything in it.

Heres some Pics:

its now got a stainless straight through exhaust, with sportex back box, and lowered 40mm at the front. will post as i do more mods.

I then had it in work, rolling roaded at 120bhp@the wheels, and this was a very good baseline figure. especially as the engine was knocking!

I also decided to respray it as the boss was away:

Right, well heres pics as promised:

The prepping:

The Drivers Side:

The Bonnet:

some decent pics:-

It then went and fialed its MOT on:

Outer sills corrosion

n/s/f tyre

exhaust leaking at 2 joints

steering rack o/s inner joint excessive play - is this changeable or adjustable?

rear lights all wrong colour.

brake pipes perished

I was heartbroken!

I gt it all repaired, then got it passed, then 2 weeks later she siezed up.

SO then i bought a 172, and was driving that about.

Right. well as my engine is near enough finished and all i need is the crank out of the engine that is in the car at the moment, so today i got it down into the workshop to get started on it while i wait for the engine hoist:
The car in the Barn:

The huge scratch mum put in it

Oh and the Retro-renault stickers arrived after getting lost in the post 8 Months ago!

ANd the engine ready for removal, all disconnected etc etc, and looks like the WD 40 i sprayed in the bores dried up, and i couldnt open the bonnet due to where my dad parked it right under a tree!

I rebuilt an engine for it, but it leaked, then i needed money so sold it...

I then wrote off the 172, so needed a car asap, i bought a smacked chammy and put the engine in my hatch, and im now using it as my daily driver!

Well today as i knew the gearbox mount was a bit buggared, and i had a new one somewhere i decided not to change it until i found it, but it got really bad today, so i used the one off the 172, which is slightly stiffer and its improved no end.

i was abit weary of this engine tbh, on the motorway the oil pressure was fluctuating. and i also noticed that after about 5krpm the pressure would drop. so i started avoiding going above 5krpm.
