Renault 5 RSI
Renault 5 RSI

Introduction

7th December 2006

So it begins…

Two days ago I saw a cheap Renault 5 1.4 Campus on e-bay which I was tempted by, partly to allow my girlfriend to learn to drive in and partly (as I’ve had two before) I knew it’d be a damn sight cheaper to run up and down to work than my Ford Mondeo. Anyway, after some thought I placed a bid and by the time the auction ended it was mine.

Tonight I left early from work and got a lift the fifty or so miles down to Arbroath to pick it up. Needless to say it was a nervous drive up the road due to various “legal issues” but the car generally drove well and this is what it looked like after getting back to base;

Car Details
Year, Make & Model:
1995 Renault 5 Campus 1.4

its is yes, but I left a load of oil in the dodgy cylinder, so theres a chances its freed the rings off on it. It runs on all four anyway for the brief time I ran it.

besides this is no doubt only a stop gap conversion for him anyway.

It'll be a 2l 8v then a 2l 16v, then something turbo'd no doubt.

Stop putting ideas into my head! lol

Seriously though bb, RSI will be in for a good while as the bodywork will take priority next, it not exactly mint. Maybe the end of the year though...

dougals going to be braving the standard solid 238's at the moment, an upgrade to vested will take place.

Weathers dry so I am doing tidy up jobs on it just now.

Yeah it'll be on solids for a month or two until i've cash for the some GTT items...should be ok/safe enough to get me by.

Tacho will go on at a later date, again money and decent clocks pending but TBH it'll be fun seeing the 1.4 items go off the clock at 120 lol
