That stuff sticks far better that the original too. The original dynamat had to be heated first or it would just peal straight off.
So are you just doing the boot or are you planning on doing the whole car? IMO for the setup you’re putting in, I'd just do the boot and the front doors. That would allow you to save some of the money to put towards nice things, like a power cap and some 0 Gauge power cable. (Remember whatever gauge wire take the power to your amp is what you should use for the earth) otherwise you slow down the flow of current. |

Thanks for the advice, but i've worked for a car audio company for nearly 6 years. I'm not doing the dynamat just for the sounds, im also doing it to reduce road noise. Dynamat was actually invented by a HOT rod enthusiast and managed to find its way into car audio.
Power caps are a complete waste of time on small set ups, its just peoples perception that they need them if running multiple amps. Its all about UPRATING the alternator! If you can't charge the battery faster than you're drawing power out... well....its not rocket science to work out. 0 gauge cable is ok, but i plan on running down 2 4awg wires instead, not too keen on distribution boxes etc. I've got some pictures of demo cars we did for some max power shows a few years back, i'll try up load them. |

yea, I understand your point about uprating the alternator but a powercap is still nice to have. I can hardly preach to you about this as your a profesional installer but I have been playing with my own installs for the last 10 years so i know a little on the subject.
BB, do try and remember i've been away for a bit, so if I fail to remember that someone is an expert in a field and offer them advice then its not me being ignorent, it's mearly me trying to help. so don't be nob about it. Anyway indy, just seen some of your work indy, nice job. I may ask you for some tips when i put my gear in the supra. |

hmmmm, not much room in them cars. I would go for 3 8" subs, 2 102s would be squeezing it... or one 12" in a H.O box would sound lovely. Depends really on how much bass you want and how much you wanna spend. My advice is ALWAYS leave a decent budget for an ALPINE stereo and a good set of components upfront. No point having loud bass if you cant even hear the vocals.
