Renault 19 16V Hatch Phase 2 Tungsten Grey
Published by Wicked Neo
28th October 2006
Introduction

28/10/2006:

Today saw a new addition to my Renault family, Another R19 16V Ph2 Hatch.

The car was bought from another forum member, name of Paul who thought that this was the exec model, it's not, the executive came out later

Mechanicly it seems sound with the exception of the top mounts

which have cracked, frankly not unusual, a lot of them suffer from this.

The drive home was uneventful, she pulled like a train, revving quite happily past the 7000 rpm mark in 5th gear! I'm not going to say here what speed i took her up to but lets just say it was fast

there was no wander in the steering, suspension seemed to cope with throwing it around the twisty bits and even the ABS worked lol

Whilst the ABS is in working condition, it can stay in there, but at the first sign of trouble, it will be ditched in favour of the non abs braking system.

Now whilst the car appears mechanicly sound, it does have a few bodywork issues i am going to need to sort out

Dent in the drvers side wing, paint peeling off the front bumper and a few scratches in the paintwork

Dent in the bonnet so going to need a decent 2nd hand one.

couple of little dents in the rear quarter

Engine bay held no nasty surprises and looks to be all standard under there

Same with the interior, all standard except that Paul had removed the old cloth seats and put in some nice leather ones

And until its MOTed, (mot runs out today) here she is in her new home

UCC still requires a little bit of bodywork, has a couple of dimples on the pass side rear quarter, a little dent on the drivers side rear quarter, a dent in the drivers side rear arch, a dent in the bonnet, a key scratch on the pass side rear quarter and the front bumper is peppered with stone chips and i need to fit the speedo cable to it for it to be almost mint.
