16v volvo 340 conversion

heres a pic of the shitter 19 i picked up during the week for converting my volvo 340 to a 1800cc 16v drifter!! pulled the driveshafts outta it today but was dying from beer so gave up after that. well ill try to keep ye updated, and if anyone in Eire needs any 19 parts gimmi a shout!

Next outing...

Right, the '89 340 saloon that is going to be 16v (hopefully) its no minter but thats the idea!

The phase 2 19 that is donating the engine. i also did the world a favour by removing this eye sore from the roads...

Empty 19 'bay

19 lump minus loom and the only tool i own sitting on the rocker cover....

loom + steely caps, size 9

& a sneeky pic of my 99 suzi sv650 i got a wee while back

More to come.... will prob be the weekend as im back to work tomorrow.

Volvo 1.7 8v Engine bay

She's up

8v out

8v sump with engine mount attached.

badged her up during the tea break...

clipped the knuckle near the end but was well worth it

Now, on the injected/carb debate.... i had no wiring diagram for the volvo (still dont) but discoverd that they have a crankshaft sensor and a coil with spark module built in sssoo if i stuck a set of carbs on it i could use the volvo loom, and just stick the main ht lead into the middle of the 16v dizzy. id still have to get a fuel pump going but it might not be the end of the world. anyways, funds arnt great at the mo so might sleep on it for a week or to before i decide
