Introduction

Back December of 2005 a forum member called Puppy had a black 3 door executive. It was in Edinburgh. Amber and I went for a look to see what it was like and whether or not to drag it away.

It was an interesting day anyway. At first he wanted £150 or £100 I can't remember, I managed to talk him down to giving it to me for free and he towed it across Edinburgh for me! Top result and hes a good bloke.

The car was dragged to Soneji's who wasn't in and in the 3/4 days it was left there I never saw him or heard from him, so he either wasn't there or never noticed.

The car was a non runner due to having no nearside brake caliper and the wiring loom on the engine had been pulled off by a pillock.

The rear nearside arch was pretty corroded and there was a few other blemishes body wise, but from a few yards away it looks very good. There was also no centre caps and 1 alloy was missing.

The only stipulation Puppy gave was the leather had to go with him.

The car had not run for over a year or so on Puppys guess and he told me I would never get it running. Now we all know I like a challenge.

Here are pictures of the car after Puppy had left after dropping it at Soneji's.

Note handbrake, 1 cable had snapped

you can see the engine loom all shoved over to the right

like I said it looked stunning

thats Ambers meganes spare wheel on it

the boot was full of goodies!

Missing relays in the aux fuse box

no radiator

no caliper

2 days later I went back and fiitted a 1.4 caliper. The pads from the old one were in the boot, due to the extra width of the disc I had to file down the pads to get them to fit inside the 1.4 caliper.

I also refitted the wiring loom and fitted an ecu

rewiring the alt, not missing bolt from bracket to inlet manifold

looking a lot more like it

had to put brake fluid in
