CHR customer car: Meddy Clios RT
CHR customer car: Meddy Clios RT
repaired and improved!

Introduction

Back in July 2005 Alan (meddy clio) had a clio RT. It wasn't to healthy engine wise and he wanted more. He came to me as he knew it would be a top notch job.

The job was basically port the head and make it faster.

A job to which I welcomed.

The car was dropped off and Alan who is in the RAF serving his nation was shipped off to somehwere hot and sweaty to fix aeroplanes.

I was then to sort the beast.

Heres the first pic I took of the car, the engine bay I could tell right away the headgasket was blown

there was a few other things that needed done as well, I have a good eye for things like this.

The bonnet he had complained about, it didn't latch properly, a quick look at the catch revealed this

a quick bit of this and that had it straightened out

heres a pic of the side of the car, as you can see there had been a lot of cash spent on the car

Inside I noticed a missing bit of trim, the tailgate hinge cover

I noticed the tailgate was out of alignment and the tailgate loom wasn;t secured correctly.

The loom first

secured as it should be

the tailgate, as you can see the tailgate was missaligned, this would have caused leaks and extra wind noise

this is how it was

and after I aligned it properly

to complete that job a replacement cover for the hinge nut

As I said earlier the headgasket had gone, heres some proof of it

and the header tank

Further looking around revealed a burst vacuum hose, won't help the car at all

The induction kit was a Hillpower effort, a dirty one no less

Alan also wanted a top mount cover, the ph3's never came with these but the customer gets what the customer wants

It was then time for the real work to commence...
