What happened on the 1.6 to make the coolant bottle that mess! The connectors. As your aware a lot of the 2l's came with AC, the radiator fans sdifferent to the one you havem its a variable speed one so uses some of those connectors. |

How!
Hi,
Well done for your conversion. I have a renault megane hatch with the 1.6L 8v K7M Engine. I always wanted to replace the engine with the F7R Williams. Can you please give me some tips on how to do it? Does the F7R fit my renault and what modifications do I have to Do? Also, what about the gearbox and electrical? Thanks a lot and hope I receive from you soon! Mario |

Sorry for my late reply.
Chris tnx to your help I made it. I figure it out that this conectors are for AC and radiator fan. Haynes helped alot. @mike9h29 F7R won`t fit directly on engine mounts, because F7R has right hanging mount and K7M has mount in front of the engine. Best solution is that you buy alternator and servo pump with all the brackets from R19 1.8RTi or 1.8 16v. Than it is bolt on swap Engine electronic is plug in (all the wiring from engine to ECU and Battery) You have to slightly modify or made it yourself, bracket for ECU. And you have to remove the key code from ECU (every chip tuning garage is capable to do it) You can use driveshafts from 1.6 engine. You can also use gearbox from 1.6, but I wouldn`t recomendet that. A little welding with exhaust. That would be all. Than just start and drive p.s. Sorry for my english, but I hope you understand |

@Chris
What happened on the 1.6 to make the coolant bottle that mess! I don`t know. I think that head gasket has gone. Engine wasn`t warming, but when I have longer rides, I came home and there wasn`t any coolant liquid in the bottle, because everything throw up. About 2 months before, liquid has gone about 3 times in a row. I allways refilled it before engine damage. But week before I started engine swap, throwing up from coolant bottle begins, but I didn`t worry because I swaped engine. I sold 1.6 engine and told buyer that he will have to change head gasket, I don`t know if he did it, but he didn˙t call me back that engine isn`t good. |
