hey there ppl i think that there should be retro mag were at the back of it cars/parts/wanted and front all the latest projects and engine builds etc etc and comeptitions for the best motor and wat ever you want. so what does every one thing or is it a shit idea.

A magazine would cost money to produce, take time to produce and then there would be the question of how often a magazine should be released.

All the information that would be contained in such a magazine would be limited to a few pages where as this forum contains everything that any one of us has discussed and is always there plus it is instant, you have a problem with your car, writing it in to a magazine would mean at least a wait of a month to have your question answered where as posting it on the forum, you should get a reply within 24 hours.
The same applies for items wanted/for sale, cars wanted for sale, almost instant replies.

All the projects are contained on these forums with loads and loads of pictures to accompany them which you could not do in a magazine etc etc.

However, we could do a monthly feature on a member or a members car/project or similar on the forums if that is what people wanted, we already have a monthly photo competition running

Check the media section of the forums, the photo competition is there.
As for what you get, you get the owner of these forums, Chet, telling you that your photo won heh (there is no prize, maybe we can get some RR keyrings made up which could then be given out as the prize, not for sale though which would make them more exclusive and an incentive for people to enter the comp)

been there, done that , still got the mental scars , editing is a crappy job, you never please everyone and you are a major target for everyones moans and gripes, that said I did enjoy it at times

A paper mag is something we cant do (at present) but how about an e-mag, not a massive one but something sent out once every three or six months which covers briefly whats been going on in the forums, new club members, couple of pics, projects etc, that link back here to the full thread. can also do an end of year view or new year preview of what shows and stuff we have been to/plan to attend.

If its sent to people that maybe have lapsed on the forum or not logged in for a while it might jog a few into coming back?. Also it can be sent to reps in other clubs and tuning companies, even the Classic Car magazine editors?

This is something I have been working on (a bit slowly I admit) and there are plans for exactly this ^^ We are currently looking into various formats for publishing it / sending it out. But if you want to contribute that would be very useful!
